A list of Cartoon Network cartoons and some information on them.
Cartoon Network is providing us with a lot of new cartoons. These must
be some of the most popular cartoons that I know of. But Cartoon Network
has taken the cartoon business by storm, with all their cartoon hits that
they show.
You'll see that some of them are not originally created
by Cartoon Network, but includes some of the
Hanna-Barbera cartoon as well.
Generator Rex is an American animated television series for
Cartoon Network, created by "Man of Action".
Five
years ago, a massive explosion released high concentrations
of nanites into the atmosphere, infecting almost every
living thing on Earth. These nanites may randomly activate
inside their hosts, mutating the subject into a monster
known as an E.V.O. ("Exponentially Variegated Organism").
Though some E.V.O.s retain human-level intelligence, most go
berserk and cause widespread destruction. An international
organization known as Providence exists to combat the E.V.O.
threat.
Rex is a young amnesiac E.V.O. with the
ability to grow various numerous machines out of his body.
He can also use his nanites to communicate with and control
nearby machines, and to absorb active nanites from some
other E.V.O.s, curing them.
Control of his powers is
linked to his emotional state, and can fail with low
self-confidence, when he is being irritated or when he has
inner conflict. His powers can also fail when worn-out and
tired.
Rex experiences frustration in the tightly
controlled environment of Providence, which he often vents
by breaking out of the base to go on "road trips"
with Bobo. Rex sometimes fears that he may experience
another blackout and forget his current life and friends.
Later he learns that he was born in Geneva,
Switzerland, during his parent's travels around the world,
while his father was from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and his
mother was from Mexico City, Mexico. When Rex was ten years
old, his family were part of the nanite-technology research
project in Abysus. Rex was severely injured, with an
experimental nanite-related treatment administered by his
parents' colleague Dr. Gabriel Rylander his only hope for
survival.
The cure apparently works, however, as a side
effect, Rex begins manifesting E.V.O. powers, in the form of
bio mechanical machines. During the Nanite-Release events
Rex becomes separated from his family. During this event his
brother Caesar escaped and was trapped in a superluminal
spacecraft. Rex surfaced as a street-gang leader in Hong
Kong, suffering from periodic amnesia-causing blackouts.
Rex's
powers come in the form of "builds", machine enhancements
his nanites can generate seemingly out of thin air. His
builds include robotic arms/hands, called "Smack Hands",
robotic legs/feet called "Punk Busters", a sword/rotary saw
called "Big Fat Sword" or BFS, a bazooka-like cannon called
"Slam Cannon", a ducted-fan flight-pack called "Boogie
Pack", and a hover-bike.
After Dr. Rylander injected
him with the Omega-1 nanite he gains additional builds.
These new builds include a backpack dynamo with an
electrified, extensible whip-like tentacle called "Whip
Arm", a pair of extending fists which can rotate and
generate energy shock-waves called "Nunchucks",a pair of
energy-enhanced hand axes called "Battle Axes", and a pair
of force-field generating arms called "Block Party".
Agent Six is a senior Providence agent and Rex's handler. Bobo Haha
is a talking E.V.O. chimp and Rex's sidekick. Dr. Rebecca
Holiday is the lead scientist for Providence. Noah Nixon is
Rex's best friend. White Knight is the leader of
Providence, and the only nanite-free human on the planet. He
had been trapped in a molecular-dissection chamber during
Providence's early days, though a young Rex deactivated it
before it could completely vaporize him, instead, it only
destroyed his nanites.
The villain of the
story is Van Kleiss. Van Kleiss appears to know quite a bit
about Rex, and knows what caused the nanite incident. He saw
the nanite incident as the dawn of a new age for humanity,
and seeks to create a world populated entirely by E.V.O.s.
Like Rex, he is able to control his nanites, but unlike Rex
however, his mutation is unstable and requires a constant
supply of fresh nanites, extracted from other E.V.O.s, who
are petrified in the process. With his E.V.O. enforcers,
"The Pack", he has established a domain called Abysus at the
original site of the nanite explosion, and has seeded
nanites for miles in the area. As a result, he can control
everything in his sphere of influence, and even regenerate
completely from the ground if his body is destroyed. He has
an extensive knowledge of the nanites, having apparently
worked on or been familiar with the experiment which
released them, and about Rex's past. E.V.O.s created by Van
Kleiss are extremely unstable, meaning that the
transformation becomes permanent if not cured within a time
limit.
Circe met Rex during his trip to Cabo Luna.
She is a female E.V.O. with black-and-red hair whose special
abilities only manifest when active, like Rex's. When
activated, her mouth prolapses into a huge fanged tube,
which she can use to project unusually strong and
destructive sonic blasts, which also attract some other
E.V.O.s to her.
Generator Rex seems to follow in the
tradition of Cartoon Network superheroes.
Ben 10 is an
American created Cartoon Network series. The pilot episode aired in
December 27, 2005. Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen, and their
grandfather Max, were on a summer trip at a camp, when Ben
were almost struck by a foreign object that fell from space.
When Ben investigates the landing spot, he finds a
mysterious device, he calls the Omnitrix, stored inside the
crashed object. But when Ben reaches out to inspect the
object, the device connects to his wrist and gives Ben the
ability to transform into 10 different aliens, each with its
own extraordinary powers.
Unable to remove the Omnitrix from
his arm and after quite a few lessons of life, Ben realizes
that he has a responsibility to help others with these new
abilities in his possession. Soon he became a super hero
with these new powers. They travel in a motor home nicknamed
"The Bucket of the Oxidation". Ironically, a GMC Motor-home
is manufactured of fiberglass and aluminum, and cannot be
oxidized.
His cousin,
Gwen, is the voice of the reason which often fails, because
Ben is always ready to plunge into a bad situation, head
first. Gwen always tries to plan in advance and to calculate
the consequences of actions, because she is convinced that
Ben never thinks before he acts.
She utilizes their laptop
to investigate some people and/or strange creatures that
they find, and is continuously trying to help Ben find out
how the Omnitrix works. Although she holds Ben in contempt
and insults him with dry sarcasm most of the time, she has
some respect for him but doesn’t like to show it.
Gramps Max, as
his grandchildren call him, is Ben and Gwen’s grandfather.
With a sharp sense for adventure and a strange preference in
food, Max always takes the children on interesting trips.
And this is where Ben’s crazy alien-hero adventure begins.
This must be one of the most famous Cartoon Network
cartoons, as of yet.

Megas XLR (short for Extra Large Robot) is an American
animated television series and was produced by Cartoon
Network Studios. It was created by Jody Schaeffer and George Krstic.
Megas XLR are also shown on Cartoon Network.
In the distant future of 3037, humanity is fighting a doomed
war against an alien race known as the Glorft. In order to
save the Earth and their species from total annihilation,
the human resistance steals a prototype giant robot from the
Glorft and modifies it, renaming it "Megas" (Mechanized
Earth Guard Attack System). The plan was to send Megas back
in time to the Battle of the Last Stand in 3035, which was
the last major offensive fought by humanity against the
Glorft. Humanity lost that battle, and the war moved more
and more in the Glorfts' favor ever since, but the members
of the resistance believe that Megas can tip the scales and
hand the Glorft a decisive defeat.
Before the plan can be executed, an attack by the Glorft
forces the human resistance to send Megas back in time ahead
of schedule. Kiva, one of the main architects of the plan,
decides to pilot it and attempts to transfer into it from
her own mech. During the attempt, Megas' head is blown off
by enemy fire, destabilizing its timedrive and sending the
robot to 1936. Megas languishes in a junkyard, otherwise
known as Jersey City, New Jersey, until it ends up in the
hands of Coop (who bought it for two dollars, and never
bothered to actually pay for it), around the year 2004. Coop
turns Megas into a hot rod project and names it XLR, for
Xtra Large Robot.
Kiva and the Glorft also go back in time in the hopes of
retrieving Megas, arriving in Coop's time. When Kiva finds
it she discovers that she is unable to pilot it because of
Coop's modifications; because the Glorft attack destroyed
Megas' head, Coop had to jerry-rig together a new set of
controls using a car and various videogame controls. Coop's
constant video game playing has made him the perfect pilot
for the remodeled Megas, so Kiva grudgingly decides to train
Coop in Megas' proper use until she can repair the timedrive.
Each episode begins with some mundane or seemingly
unimportant task Coop is trying to perform. In doing so,
Coop will often awaken, irritate, or otherwise incur the
wrath of some alien force, usually possessing a mecha or
some other threat beyond the scope of normal weaponry. This
threat will inevitably interrupt whatever task Coop is
trying to perform, leading him to fight the threat with
Megas. For the final showdown, Coop often uses a new ability
surprisingly fitting the situation, at one point activating
it via a button literally labeled "5 Minutes Until the End
of the Episode".
Megas possesses a whole range of weapons consisting of The
Jammer, Super-Destructor Mode, Bet You Can't Guess What This
Button Does, Headlight Lasers, Light Gun Blaster, Mazer
Refractor, Energy Sword, Cool Blade Thingy, Nitrous, Manual
Overdrive, 5 Minutes Till End of Episode, The Do Not Touch
Button, Something Bigger, Wave Motion Gun, Autobot Matrix of
Leadership, Reflex Cannon, Secondary Command Centre, Save
Jamie Gear
The main characters of the cartoon network
series consist of Harold "Coop" Cooplowski, Commander Kiva Andru, Jamie and Gorrath.

Best Ed is an animated
Cartoon Network television series created by Rick
Marshall. The show features adventures of an overly helpful
and enthusiastic dog named Ed and his best friend, Doug the
squirrel, whom everyone calls "Buddy" because Ed refers to
him as best buddy (best friend), in their hometown of Swellville.
Ed is a yellow dog. Ed is overly enthusiastic and helpful,
but rather dimwitted. He has many catchphrases, such as his
trademark 'Yee!' and 'I'm here to help!', as well as
'Sacagawea!', 'Krakatoa!' and 'Well isn't that curious?' He
has a speech impediment which makes him often say 'sh'
rather than 's'. He has 'happy sandals', and is a frequent
viewer of The Mighty Measel Moles, which Buddy hates. He has
numerous skills. He is well-liked by everyone in the
neighborhood, although he considers Buddy his best friend.
Buddy also known as Doug is an orange squirrel. Buddy is
more level-headed and intelligent than Ed. He suffers
incredibly from the antics of Ed, and everyone else through
either neglect or abuse. He still does consider himself good
friends with Ed. Everyone else dislikes him. He enjoys nuts,
and has a car with a giant acorn for a roof. He was part of
a club devoted to the nerdy roleplaying game, Battle Buddies
a while ago. His catchphrases are 'No, please, no!' and
'It's Doug, actually'.
Other characters include Mr. Thirsty - A large, brown dog
who is paranoid and aggressive. His sidekick is Eugene and
he is very jealous of Buddy. Mme. Fluffé is a yellow
hamster. She resembles the stereotypical fortune teller, but
this is not an often employed trait. She has a crush on Ed.
The Kitten Twins are pink cats. Named Betsy and Buster they
appear cute and innocent, but are the worst of the lot. They
tend to speak at the same time and giggle a lot. They are
very rich, due to their high paying jobs as top mitten
testers.
Eugene Tuttle is a short, green and brown turtle.
Eugene is frequently picked on by Mr. Thirsty. He lives in a
house shaped liked a shell, surrounded by a moat. He is shy
and nervous. Heiny, a Scott Terrier, Dr Duck, Mrs. Pig
Principal, Officer Yoyo and Whithey, Blakie and Red who are
3 nerd squirrels, and last but not least Mad Dog Marshall.
This is also one of the best cartoons shown on Cartoon
Network.
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack is an American
animated television series produced for Cartoon Network. The
Cartoon Network show was created by cartoonist Thurop Van-Orman who has
worked as a writer and storyboard artist on Camp Lazlo and
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
Flapjack is a good natured boy raised by a talking whale
named Bubbie. He leads a peaceful life until the duo rescues
a pirate by the name of Captain K'nuckles, who tells
Flapjack of a place called Candied Island, which is made
completely of candy. Inspired by the adventurous pirate,
Flapjack, Captain K'nuckles and Bubbie get into strange
predicaments and "misadventures" in search of candy. The
three spend most of their time in Stormalong Harbor, their
place of residence, and home to many strange characters.
The
main characters of this Cartoon Network show consist of
Flapjack: An excitable, adventure-loving boy who was
found and raised by Bubbie, the talking whale.
Captain K'nuckles: A
washed-up and childish old sailor who claims to be the
greatest adventurer the world has ever known. Nowadays, he
prefers to nap and drink maple syrup, while telling
outrageous tales of past adventures and getting Flapjack
wrapped up in his high seas hi-jinks.
Bubbie : She is a talking
whale who acts as a doting mother to Flapjack. She acts as
K'nuckles' ship, as well as his and Flapjack's 'house',
though they live in her mouth.
Other characters that appear often in the episodes are
Peppermint Larry, Dr. Barber, Dock Hag, The Professor, Slippery
Pete, Poseidon, Lolly
Poopdeck, Eight Armed Willy
and The Inventor.
This is once again another classic
from Cartoon Network.
Avatar: The Last
Airbender is an American television series.
The
series was created and produced by Michael Dante DiMartino
and Bryan Konietzko. Avatar is written as an
Asian-influenced world of martial arts and elemental
manipulation. This Cartoon Network animation is about the adventures
of Aang and his friends who must save the world by defeating
the evil Fire Lord and ending the destructive war with the
Fire Nation. The word Avatar means descent. In Hinduism, the
gods manifest themselves into Avatars to restore balance on
earth, usually during a period of great evil.
One hundred
years ago, a 12-year-old Airbender, Aang learns that he is
the new Avatar. Afraid of the heavy responsibilities of
stopping an imminent world war and with the looming
separation from his mentor Monk Gyatso, Aang flees from home
on his flying bison Appa. During a violent storm, they crash
into the ocean, and Aang's Avatar state freezes them in a
state of suspended animation inside an iceberg. Avatar draws
his power from the four classical elements: water, earth,
fire and air.
One might easily say that
Samurai Jack is "weird". The dramatic accent is of
a clear Asian origin, while the storyline and plot
development are a blend of US and European styles.
Samurai Jack was sent away, as a boy, to train in the
disciplines of the samurai, in the meantime the evil Aku
conquered his homeland. As a grown man, Samurai Jack faced
Aku. Out of fear for Samurai Jack, Aku sent him into a
distant future through a time-travel portal.
This
Cartoon Network show is
about our hero as he journeys through strange universes,
constantly fighting against Aku's evil creations and
searching for the portal that will take him home. Each new
episode brings new characters, but Samurai Jack is often
crossing path with the Scotsman in his fight against Aku.
Samurai Jack is a true hero, brave, noble and just. He saves
countless civilizations from the danger brought upon them by
the shape shifting Aku.
Samurai Jack is a man of few words,
as he lets his advanced training, karate skills and sharp
blade do all the talking. Aku, with evil supernatural
powers, has brought chaos in every world he visited. No
force was strong enough to counter Aku's dark dealings - but
then Samurai Jack came along. Aku knows that Jack is the
only one who can stop him, so he unleashes his full strength
to eliminate the silent warrior.
The Scotsman - a truly weird
warrior, has a magical sword and a machine gun instead of
his left leg. At first Samurai Jack and the Scotsman were
opponents, but now they are fighting on the same side
against Aku. Demongo - summoned by Aku, is able to steal the
power and essence of the universe's greatest warriors. He
uses this power to try and defeat Samurai Jack. However,
Samurai Jack knows how to use that same power in his
advantage.

actions, and seeks to destroy them.
Panda knows that Skunk

Chowder was
first seen in November 2007 on Cartoon Network. C.H.
Greenblatt is the creator of Chowder.
Chowder, the main
Cartoon Network character, has a dream to become one of the greatest chefs
in the world someday. He is a young, impulsive apprentice
that is learning from the great legendary chef Mung Daal.
Now when
someone's dream is to become a great chef, that can
mean only one thing, he loves food - and that’s exactly what
Chowder loves - food.
Chowder lives with the legendary chef
Mung Daal and his wife, Truffles, in a room on top of the
catering business, which makes it easier for Chowder to get
to chef school to learn to be the great chef that he always
wanted to be, and of course, this way he is closer to his
greatest love – food. But, there’s one problem, Chowder is
very impulsive and easily, and often, gives in to anything.
He is always hungry, that’s why you will always see him
eat.
His eating, not just nuts or eggs, but everything
from nuts to eggs, to the customers orders, no matter
what it is.
As for Mung Daal,
it is never mentioned how old he is, but he has mentioned in
the series that he has been cooking for 386 years, and he
recently celebrated 450 years of marriage to his wife
Truffles, so we can at least guess. Chowder has a very
distinctive appearance.
He wears a purple hat, shaped like
two horns, a purple shirt, and slacks and he himself is also
a light purple in color. He is a very likeable character
that anybody could love.

to help Andy get out of trouble, even if Rodney’s the one
who started the trouble in the first place.

"partners in crime," Andy and his friend Rodney are always
involved in different adventures, and the adventures they
embark on in Andy’s yard and around the neighborhood.
My Gym Partner's a Monkey an
American created cartoon series for television, which
premiered in December 2005 on Cartoon Network.
The story is
about Adam Lyon, a human student from the school of Chester
Arthur. After a typo changed his surname to the "Lion", he
is sent to the School of Chat Darwin, a school for
anthropomorphic (attribution of human characteristics to
nonhumans) animals.
Shortly after his transfer, he is joined
with Jake Spidermonkey in the gymnasium, from there the
title. While Adam has to deal with human problems, he has to
deal with the tasks of animals as well, while Jake makes
jokes at others expense. Jake seems also to be connected
enough to Adam, entering the deep depression when Adam was
with other friends or is far away for a while. This is
illustrated by Jake crying publicly when Adam is sick for a
day.
A lot of the School of Chat
Darwin is shaped after specific habitats. For example, there
are pipes for the fish they created so that the fish can
breathe and be able to swim around.
There are also vines and
bodies of water. Some animals want to use devices that allow
them to live out of their natural habitat. Since the School
of Chat Darwin is the only animal school around, they
compete against human schools in the athletics, and in other
events.
This series was
created by Tom Warburton and aired in 1999 on Cartoon
Network.
Every episode is
treated as a mission where the 5 kids handle typical
childhood problems. As the series progressed, a bigger, more
complex storyline was developed. The Kids Next Door
Organization is a worldwide group consisting of thousands of
kids joined in a mutual struggle against adult tyranny.
They
fight villains that embody specific menaces to children
overall. Every member of Kids Next Door, after a period of
training, they are assigned a number (pronounced "numbuh")
and sent to a "sector", which is a huge tree house. The main headquarters of the Kids Next Door,
the Moon Base, is located on the moon. Kids follow their
oath of protecting other kids as well as battling adulthood
until the age of 13, when they are "decommissioned”.
The KND team
consists of Numbuh 1 (Nigel Uno), who is the leader
of Sector V, a workaholic, bald British kid who does not put
complete trust in anyone but his teammates. He gets easily
annoyed by distractions and occasionally has a short temper,
and is somewhat paranoid. Numbuh 2 (Hoagie Pennywhistle
Gilligan Jr.) is an inventor and pilot with a passion
for flight, a chubby American kid obsessed with cracking
jokes at every chance he sees. He was the one who designed
the tree house, Sector V’s headquarters. Food is also one of
his great interests in, and underlies much of what he does. Numbuh 3 (Kuki Sanban), an 'airhead' and a true
girl. She is an optimistic, usually happy Japanese girl
whose love for every creature almost always interferes with
her responsibilities. Numbuh 4 (Wallabee Beatles),
is a short, blonde-haired, impulsive Australian boy known
for acting before thinking. He is the most capable when it
comes to physical fighting , but is arguably the least
intelligent KND operative, which leads to him being easily
fooled, and most usually selected for dangerous parts in
missions. Numbuh 5 (Abigail Lincoln) is an
intelligent and relaxed girl of African American and French
descent who keeps her head cool even in the worst
situations. Her passion is candy and sweets - mostly notably
ice cream. Their nemesis is The Delightful Children, who is
always in their way of doing things.
Cartoon Network
has made a smashing run with this series.

This is another Cartoon Network
animation series that has taken storm.

Being Ian is a Canadian animated series, produced by Studio
B Productions, Corus Entertainment and Nelvana, focusing on
the young Ian Kelley, who is 12 and aspires to become a
filmmaker.
Ian James Kelley is the protagonist of the series. He almost
constantly totes his camcorder around, hoping to hone his
craft. Unfortunately, his family is mostly indifferent
towards his creative streak, which is a constant source of
frustration for him. Ian is intelligent, if somewhat naive,
and he has a very large imagination, and often gets lost in
daydreams.
His ultimate dream is to win an Academy Award, to
the point that he constantly practices his acceptance
speech, just so he won't be caught speechless if and when it
ever does happen.
Most plots involve him either failing at
an elaborate scheme or trying desperately to survive in a
world that doesn't seem to fit his ideals. Kenneth "Ken"
Kelley is Ian's father. He owns Kelley's Keyboards, a local
music store. Victoria "Vicky" Eva-Melita Menske Kelley is
Ian's mother. She divides her time as a homemaker and
helping Ken run the music store.
Kyle Kelley is Ian's brother and the oldest of the family.
Korey Kelley is also Ian's brother and the middle child of
the three. Chopin is the Kelley family dog,
Tyrone "Ty" Washington and Sandra "Sandi" Crocker is Ian's
best friends.
Even if this is Canadian, it is still
shown on Cartoon Network.
